Luz, I agree it's amazing how a one word prompt can lead to a story
like this..well done!....(I have in the back of my mind a prompt that won't go away "Ghost Drive")....all I need to do is find the time to do something with it, preferably before Halloween..:)

Luz, this is really... strange--

  Reminds me a bit of Sweeny Todd!

It reads rather like a poem without line-breaks, a ballad of the old west sorta thing...  In fact, the repetition threw me at first, until I started regarding it as a ballad.
