Actually....I didn't have to watch CSPAN,,,,,,,,
I've been there on the floor while it was happening......a judge presides over a trial, a minister presides over a wedding, well, probably not for you.........under Robert's Rules of Order on which the Senate rules are based, the presiding officer is in charge and if
she choose to, could control and influence the flow of debate.......kinda shake things up a bit.....
What do you thing of the news about all of Obama's campaign money irregularities, Xeno, my man???? Ever hear of Mr. Good Will -- who lists his employer as "Loving" and his profession as "You" -- has contributed 1,000 times to the Obama campaign.
All the contributions have been in amounts of $25 or less. But they add up to $17,375 -- far more than the legal limit of $4,600 ($2,300 each for the primary and general election campaigns).I write about that next.......stop by and whine some for me......

the VP presides --whatever that means
what it seems to have meant from the outset is he sits and watches the debate -- I guess you have to watch some time of CSPAN to see. I've been to the capitol, the senate -- when some small debate has occurred -- only things happening were the senators making statements.
But traditionally, the Vice President does virtually nothing. Plenty of statements have been made to that effect.
