Re: I'll remind you again, as I do every birthday, that some of us remember
You were right to remind me of this. Some of us do remember dates better than others. That same friend was surprisingly very touched that I recalled a special date of theirs.  Yet for me it was normal to remember this. Things often turn out as meant for in the quiet days that followed Monday,  that friend found me and said, come with me, and took me out for  afternoon tea and cake, and then  offered my choice of some of the world's most elegant shoes around. See, just like that story that you so wanted to write. And he said to me that he thought it better that he  was unseen on the day, and so it was.

One day someone, maybe you, should just get in first, and leave that friend on hold..................................................................................................

Hope the pity party has moved on. Mine has.

I'll remind you again, as I do every birthday, that some of us remember

NO dates of any great importance. That friend forgot and contacted you later last year as I recall. Same thing, deja, oh well. You said that same thing about them last year, too.

I am so glad that you had the wonderful time with your girlfriends of old, unless it was a male friend who makes up at traffic light stops. I have some of those, too.

Happy birthday and you are old enough now to begin to ignore your own birthday. It is for little children, for teens to deocrate each other's school lockers, etc., but when we find it terribly important as we age, and as other's grow busy and forgetful, we just set uourselves up for disappointment.

I must be reminded of my own now, as I do nothing, want nothing and find the passage of time interesting but not remarkable enough to celebrate.

But, I forget, you are still just a youngster and are delicate still because of so many things. You will be fine, you are fine, you were fine and were born fine. YOu are wonderful and some people notice it more than others, and that is life.

One 'friend' of mine calls me only to fall asleep on the phone, to read her email with me on the phone....and another takes every call that comes in on top of mine and then puts me on  hold and never, never, never returns. I am about to break off that friendship and it takes MUCHO for me to do that, it's been twenty years downhill, and I am sad about it. She won't understand why and I won't whine to her one more time....

What am I rambling on about now??? I was hurt today and that's probably why I'm having a pity party for myself in your comments section. Sorry about that.

Hi Azur...does this mean you are a Libra?
Happiest of Celebrations I see...I am glad that you were able to rise above that awful scourge and that good things were found regardless...!   (((((((((aZuR)))))))

Azur, I know you have every reason to celebrate life, birthday or otherwise
so when you have one of those suckish smeared and nasty down days, it's just the prelude to a bounce. The birthday celebration with two dear friends - suweet!  Here's a mild suggestion -- get yourself dressed in something dressy and feminine, do the hair and makeup, add accessories. Then write that personal article.
