I would hope you would have a better opinion of Republican congressional representatives than to think they would vote against a critical bill because someone hurt their feelings.  Pelosi's partisan comments were unfortunate, but I don't believe they had any effect on the outcome.  I am willing to give the Republicans the benefit of the doubt, and assume they objected the to bill on principle.  Not even Republicans can be so shallow as to prolong a crisis over partisan bickering.

Of course they never stop getting our money! Their health care, their retirement benefits are enough for them to spend millions to get there. They are pigs.

I have for many years had a deeply ingrained distrust of politicians and this explains it very well.  you nailed it right on the head.  thank you.
