Are there really people in this world that think a piece of cloth can be used to petition God to give them money?

haha! i heard that it was even worse in the Dark Ages, and that they were selling "pieces from the Cross" and the Actual bread from the Last Supper...way over 1000 years after the crucufixion and last supper...
