Daydreaming
but I always claim it's 'research.' All that means is that I'm continuing to search within myself. I think. I'll check out fieldreport

Jane Yolen--- I know the name! I will take a look at the shelves here and see if we have some of her work. I think of the name with respect, and that means something, as finicky as I am!
to me, Lord of the Rings is in a class by itself, and most fantasy since has been in imitation. But I can recommend The Riddlemaster trilogy by Patricia McKillip, if your mom hasn't read them yet, and for anyone inclined to prehistoric speculative fiction, Reindeer Moon by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas is far and away superior reading to anything else *coughclanofthecavebearcough* on the popular market.

Good morning Mal, we do not have a headache clinic in Boise. I have a medical team of neurologist, psychiatrist, therapist, family doctor that work together for my treatment plan. It has been a very long road trying to find the right combination of medication to bring relief. The last 5 years are out the window, drat, and now a new experiment is underway. The meds keep getting stronger, it is sad. It appears mine are inherited, following my biological mother, and my sister has similar symptoms. Most days I can live with it but days like today eat me alive. I make myself read on Blogit just to have some control in my life. Beat the headache if I can. I usually lose though. lol I am so sorry you get them. It is the worst pain I can imagine. sammy

Ciel - a Lord of the Rings fan. Right - you mentioned that in your favorite books comment. I got through one Harry Potter Book and couldn't go on. My son made me read Eregon, but I couldn't read the follow up. At 75, though, my own Mom is a fantasy nut. She's into all that stuff. And I have a cousin, Jane Yolen, who writes lots of fantasy, too. It's in the family, just not in me, I guess!

Re:
Oooh, Sammy - I'm so sorry about that. I get them sometimes and I can't do anything but feel the pain. I hope you're looking for relief. Is there a headache clinic around you? Mal

My biggest time-taker is LOTRO--a mass-player on-line game set in Middle-earth.
