- Go to Biden Gives 0.02% to Charity, Says Paying High Taxes is Patriotic Duty
Re: mousehop, from what I've seen,
Actually, I was thinking more like Denmark. And as for charities being efficient, it depends on which one. I read that the Fraternal Order of Police gets 3-6% of collected funds to target people. So they spend over 90% on administration. Hardly a model of efficiency. Even governments do better than that.

Yes it has been my experience for many years that both locally and those very large charities particularly the faith based ones have done incredible work. Government handouts is a form of communism. Another excellent post as is the usual case.

mousehop, from what I've seen,
charities, in general, are far more efficient than government when it comes to dispensing aid. But perhaps you were referring to the utopian ideal of 100% employment, everyone working, no one hungry or homeless, no charitable services or gov handouts required? I think that's called heaven or something along that line. As Jesus said, "the poor you will always have."

Bankrupt Patriots
One might suggest that with a properly functioning government, there wouldn't be much need for charity.
Oh, and it might actually be patriotic to help save our government from insolvency, don't you think? Tax the rich, help the poor. Sounds like Robin Hood made good.

One more example of Biden shooting off his mouth
Great post. I too was amused and appalled at his view of patriotism. Most Americans, I'm thinking, would prefer to pay lower taxes, but have the opportunity to be more charitable. Evidently the tightwad Biden has different views on this.
