Re: I have read that up to 30% of all pregnancies end in spontaneous
mysteria - it is possible that the number is in that range but we simply do not know. If I am not mistaken, official medical statistics tell us that somewhere in the neighborhood of 20% of pregnancies in North America end in miscarriage ("spontaneous abortion" being the proper medical term). It becomes possible that the numbers reach upwards of 30%, or even possibly higher because of the nature of the occurance. Many women simply go to walk in clinics, or are treated as outpatients and remarkably; (a doctor told me this) many women are not even aware that they have had a miscarriage.  So I guess what I am saying is that the 30% figure you suggest is probably as accurate an estimate as we can come up with.

I have read that up to 30% of all pregnancies end in spontaneous
abortion. That would make God the biggest abortionist of them all judging by those numbers.

Soul_Builder101 - I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "Sexual Reality"
But I will assume that you mean that currently accepted levels of sexual freedom within our societies bring with it a number realities that can only be addressed by being pragmatic. If that was what you were saying, I have to agree.

Just returning the visit! The abortion doctors will keep doing brisk business regardless of the stance or lack of it. Sexual reality counts most!

Re: Some of the most staunch pro-lifers I've personally known over the years
FineYoungSinger - I don't know if that is true amongst the atheists I know or not, the subject rarely comes up. All I can say about the subject is that abortion, no matter how it is looked at, is drawing an arbitrary, manmade line determining the validity of human life at a point after conception. One needs only walk through a "premi" ward at their local hospital and see babies surviving at 26 or 27 weeks gestation, to have conflicts concerning the subject of abortion.

Some of the most staunch pro-lifers I've personally known over the years
have been Atheists, a fact that did not suprise me because their beliefs were based on scientific evidence and their ideal that a person has a single, finite life.  (...as for the assumption, well, you know what they say about people who ASSUME, right?)

Xeno-x - Re: well, yeah
To keep reading the same illogical words written by so many different people, illustrates the inability of those people to construct an original thought. It is fair to question their intelligence. It is also alarming to learn that when challenged, they are so poorly armed with anything other than drivel as the justification for their words.

well, yeah
I keep reading those types here on Blogit and wonder.

I've already commented in one of their poststhat they should find a better place to get their brains than a gum ball machine
