Y' all make me so glad to live outside a city these days. Just thinking
of Sydney traffic gives me a headache. I battled it for twenty odd years.

Around here it might work
as it's seldom anyone drives around with those things.  But geez, I hate when they do, they hurt every part of your body and makes me want bury my head DEEP in the sand to get the pain in my ears away.

You can't blame them for trying I guess.  What on earth would work?  Even here there are crashes from people who don't notices or give way to sirens.

In my neck of woods, we called them "marios": very load speakers, chicks at the back and awful muse that shakes the windows. PS: no offense intended to real people with surname of Mario, only coincidence.

LOL....Ain't tht the truth....
A day doesn't go by that I don't feel a bone-jarring blast from behind or either side.....thank heavens the sound is directed toward the front......so my windshield is safe from assault...
