Thank you so much for this comment. It is so eloquently stated. We agree on these points 100% you know how I feel and I know you as well. You are right those who vote for him because he is black are racists. The accusers do not know how to be totally free of color preference, that is why they are jumping on everything I say. I don't like Obama because he is not what he appears to be. If he had been scrutinized the way Sarah Palin he would be off the ticket now.

Racism Accusations
I think Barack Obama is obviously an attractive and eloquent speaker, but he's all fluff and no substance as far as I've seen. In interviews (like the O'Reilly one) Obama stutters and evades. One thing that makes me angry is being accused of racism. I would probably vote for Colin Powell or Condoleeza Rice. What some don't see is that if they are voting for Obama because of his color, they are racist. That's sad because it's not what the great Martin Luther King, Jr. would have wanted either. He wanted his children judged "not by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." I'm sure that he would want all free people to vote for their candidates based on the content of their character.
I hate to even add this, and I know I don't need to tell you, Justi, but for any readers here, I am very close friends with a wonderful black lady. My enlightened mother taught me early not to be a racist. It's one of the best things she ever did.

Re: Minor Inconsistencies
Actually the proper thing to say was.....
families in the bottom 40% of income earners, incomes below $36,300, typically paid no federal income tax and received money back from the government. They have it withdrawn, but they get it back and hundreds of thousands get earned income tax credits money back even when they haven't paid anything in.......That does not include the payroll deduction for SSI.........

I like your stance. Palin has had to take it while we do need to be sensitive on the other hand, that in itself is unjust! sam

Minor Inconsistencies
You say, "It is not a tax cut except for those making over $250,000", and then you say it is a tax increase on them. You also say 40% don't pay taxes. Um, I don't think that's accurate. Pretty much everyone who works pays payroll taxes. Lower income workers may only pay payroll taxes, but they do pay.
And on what basis do you claim Obama's plans will put more people on welfare? Not based on your own analysis, I hope, as you haven't got your numbers straight.
I may offer tepid support for Obama, who was fourth or fifth on my list among Democratic candidates, but mostly because the Republicans showed clearly that they aren't fit to govern. (See the record from '01 to '06) Obama's plans need some filling out, and some of his numbers are questionable, but they're better than McCain's.
