Go to A Distant Drum of the Coming Revolution

- Go to Democrats think Obama is Jesus and Palin is Pontius Pilate?
We ought to focus on policy and forget personalities. We trivialize our country and look less than civilized to the rest of the world when we waste so much precious time on unimportant diatribe. Criticize, if you must, but do it on substance.

It was a humorous comparison more than anything and you take it seriously.
A neo-fascist like Ms. Palin -- that's what I take seriously.

JESUS WAS A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER; PILATE WAS A GOVERNOR
great bumper sticker.
I've got to order it. Fits.
And you all need to find a better place to get your brains than out of gum ball machine.

Truthfully, to call Jesus a "community organizer" is to limit him and put
him in a box so to speak. He was so much more than that, and none of it in that He was entirely apolitical! But yes I agree that this comparison was appalling, and me thinks was done in desperation by the democrats.
That said, I'm not keen on the McCain camp going overboard with their stretching of the truth about Obama. That could get them in trouble. . . .

Illusions and Allusions
While I agree that using Jesus and Pilate as templates for the comparison may not be ideal, there is a reason behind it. You see, Republicans have been trashing community organizers as a means of attacking Obama's resume. Democrats want to counter that by showing that community organizers are grass-roots politicians, closely connected to the people. They chose the Bible for their comparison because they expect Conservatives to be familiar with it (though it seems to me they haven't read it very closely, as they still take it seriously). Jesus was, in fact, a community organizer, based on the stories about him. So some community organizers may do some good. A difficult point for Conservatives, perhaps, as they have currently chosen to demonize anything associated with Obama, (because they have nothing else to talk about?), but still valid. And not all governors are worthy of respect.
Now, I have some respect for Palin as a governor. She has cut back on federal earmarks compared to her corrupt predecessor. But she hasn't been completely honest about her role, as she still takes a lot of federal money, including earmarks. And if she had run for president on her own, she wouldn't have lasted a week, based on her resume. Obama has lasted years, and beat out some impressive competitors. Is it possible that Obama has more volunteers working for him that, say, the population of Alaska? Just asking.

The angles that come about astonish me then they don't! I will be thankful when this campaign comes to a close. I do not think the American people will be better off with either candidate. It is just scary! sam

On The Nose!

The dems have sat around for eight years blocking bills in committees and blaming the Repulicans as do nothing. The Repulicans let them characterize them and were not on the capital steps daily yelling to the heavens about what was happening. Obama might be a Light Traveler but he is only the catalyst to open the way for McCain and Palin to really bring the change needed. They are doers not talkers.
