muley12 - I don't know if that generalization is accurate or not

It seems to me that the motivations of all people petitioning unseen entities for favorable outcomes have striking similarities, no matter which entity it is. I don't know a lot about Satanists specifically, other than what I have read about them but it seems from what I have read that they suffer from one continuous misconception. That being the insistence of those outside of their religion to replace their central icon with the Christian version of Satan and derive opinions and conclusions about them based on that.

Admittedly it is difficult not to do so but I wonder if that is what you are doing when you use an all encompassing phrase such as: ". . . . always do it for selfish reasons."

Re: muley12 - Re: The love of power
People would not be worshipping Satan unless they want power. Some people pray to God for certain blessings, for themselves and others. While people who worship Satan always do it for selfish reasons. They are choosing power over love.

muley12 - Re: The love of power
You've sort of lost me on what you are implying. It sounds as if you are referring to the mythical notion of soul selling in return for power . . . maybe you could clarify?

The love of power
Satanism is just one manifestation of mans incurable lust for power.
