It seems al Mansur and Sutton have come out denying this story now.  There's actually no connection.  Just another example of, well, I'm not sure what, but some kind of misinformation, deliberate or otherwise.  So it seems that through this political season, we'll all need a little patience.

Re: Corbin_Dallas

About the origin of homeboy...

I could care less about it's origin it is a ghetto/prison/gang term and only those kind of people use it.

Corbin, interesting stuff, for sure....
....America has reached a fascinating place.   In fact, it would almost smack of Hollywood script-writing...but then the history of the USA has always unfolded like one big screenplay.  It's just the way stuff goes down there.  Gotta hand it to them.   Anyway, I think it' s going to be another nail-biter, but I think it's going to tip in the direction of B. Hussein Obama.  It'll be close because I think even Democrats can find McCain to be a lilkeable, strong leader with good credentials; however, his choice of running mate may be what sinks him.  Not to take anything away from Palin personally...I just feel that having a veritable stranger only "a heartbeat away from the presidency" may prove to be a little too spooky for 51% of US voters.  However, as always, I stand to be 100 percent corrected and ass-kicked through a flaming hoop, should it ever come to that.   PS:  Thanks to Talion for the home boy info.  I didn't know that.    Hey, Wiley, Nautikos...my homies!

Re: Corbin_Dallas
I actually didn't see the "home"  over to the far right of the sentence.........So I stand corrected.

I would like to point out that I wasn't blasting at Kingmi.....we've been have a friendly back and forth throughout the entire process......It was meant as a tongue in cheek comment......I didn't consider how it would appear to others who weren't privy to the back and forth.....

Not that it would matter to you, but a "home boy" is a person from the same place as another person. It could be from the same neighborhood, city, state, or even country, depending on the scope of the conversation. Thus, Cassius Clay and you are "home boys" because you are both from Kentucky. Nauticos and Wiley are "home boys" because they are both fom Canada. Editormum is my "home girl" because we're both from Memphis. It has to absolutely nothing to do with race.

An excellent post, and extremely enlightening! Kingmi's notion that Obama as 'passed the test' is nonsense, of course! In fact, he hasn't been tested at all, but has been given a more or less free ride! And even if he should pass it in future - what about those riding on his coattails?

Corbin Dallas, thank God Obama has already been inocculated against that
Black Panther connection. He passed that test last spring.

Now, two scenarios exist for voters to see in retrospect.

1. He heavily depended on a surrogate father who was a wealthy Saudi. He was compromised, helped into Harvard, betrayed his country, turned into a spy for the Saudis, and exists now as a sleeper agent, near to being elected president.

Or

2. As a member of the African-American community which has fought repression since the Emancipation, by reaching out to the black Muslim religion, like your home boy Cassius Clay, in order to gain a sense of self worth, Obama has accepted mentors recommended to him by professionals in his community and college. This scenario accepts that, yes, America abused and betrayed the black race for centuries, and yes, the black race has suffered mightily.

Guilt by association here will not be worth any more percentage points in the polls. He already has dropped those points. This is the phenomenon known by "Why is this race still so close in an obviously Democratic year", and "Why Obama can't 'close the deal?'"

But good blogging!
