What a picture! This is, as they say, 'graphic', LOL. 'Bowling balls made of apricot jam' ??? The mind boggles...

You got the picture! Great! It will do older women well to be proud of themselves, do what they want that befits the age and not try to tear down the young chicks, can't do it! Sorry it was so graphic!

I was only trying to make a case of humor four old gals like me who did it all and I am happy to back away and allow the younger to show what they can do. I don't know what this woman can do but she certainly has a right to try.

Those (in the D&RNC) are the women who have learned from the past. They were in all likely-hood not the Jane Fondas of the '60s, at least not in the Republician. Those who burned bras, marched as anti war while the solders went hungry, and became anti-everything. Those you admire are the women who have grown old gracefully doing whatever they want. I write in one community of mostly feminists and almost all left wing progressive liberals and they use such horrific language about this woman. They are out to get her one way or another. I guess Abe Lincoln would not have qualified in this day! This was meant to be a humorous piece reflecting on my own "short" comings.

I am delighted you got this! Yes it is humor! Yes those of my age and older such as Jane Fonda who burned bras and befriended North Korea who is still a horrible enemy, are so angry at the very prospect of a woman being able to be independent and still be feminine, pro-choice and Christian. Thank you so much.

You sure make a good argument as to why we should all throw our pantyhose away.  If it's not warm enough to go bare-legged with a skirt or dress, I haven't bothered with hose for a number of years.

Justi, One of the things that I liked best about watching both the DNC and the RNC was seeing all of the women my age and many of them younger than me who were out there in the public eye and didn't care that they had warts and wrinkles and fat folds or greater omentums or flapping oxters.  Life brings those things, and one should enjoy life without perfection if it comes to them.

Great post. The way you wrote it had be doubling up with laughter, though I realise this is a serious matter. On the otherside of the coin I really wish some women will dress a bit more age appropriate. A Granny of 80 and six kids later, for example, really doesn't look well in a bikini or a skirt that looks as if she robbed her grand-grand-childs closet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
