I have seen some wonderfully successful connections made via Internet--ans some wildly unsuccessful ones! The successes always came with some extended face-to-face time, before commitments were made.

I know how you feel, But we have talked on the phone a few times and did the web cam thing so we do know what each other look like. I like the fact hes only 26 Im 24. He is a great guy... untill we meet I dont know.

No matter how long you chatted online, until you meet, you don't know him.
You may know how he thinks, what he likes, what he doesn't like... but you don't know how his voice sounds, what little physical personal habits he has, or a dozen other things that meeting face-to-face will reveal. Until then, what you imagine him to be is at least partly projected from your imagination, your hopes and longings... and, of course, this goes both ways! I suggest you hold your emotions a little in reserve until you do actually meet, and then make your decisions and choices.

I am not very sure I fit the right person to advice for this scene dear, i'm very lame at online chatting. I fear talking to strangers and I fear myself falling for them or them to me...
. Anyway, if you say 2 years of communication, and you feel strongly for this man, I say you only have your faith in this person to trust dear. Online chatmates are not who they say they are, until you are sure they are who they say they are dear. But 2 years of no advances from this man I say, he sounds decent enough to me...or you wouldnt have fallen for him, would you dear? If only to ease your curiousity as to what you really feel for him and him to you, guess maybe you should go and meet him in a safe public place. Or you'll be lingering on the same 'what-ifs' on longer scale. Unless there are other circumstances to consider dear...
