Yes, but how many of them have been nominated for VICE PRESIDENT of the US, much less President. Think of the beginning of the African-American experience in this country and then think of today and you will get my drift.

Growler, good post! and think of Obama's response to that threat.
He chose as a running mate a man who is ready to be president. Sen. McCain picked a less well-prepared state official, and his health is iffy.

On one hand it is gigantic. No doubt about it. From slavery to holding possibly the highest office in the land.
On the other hand many blacks have held and hold various offices thru-out the land so it is just another human event in a way.
Anyway good luck to you on all this.
