This is off the subject
But, if you mix four tablespoons of that miso recipe I posted with six tablespoons of vinegar, well then you get this great sauce for chicken thigh meat, just pour it over the chicken during frying, let it glaze it. You said you would try making it so I wanted to add this information for you. And Takuan is one of the many kinds of pickled daikon yes, actually Korean in origin, but Japanese use it alot! Do you like it?

I kinda borrowed this space to comment on something totally unrelated to the campaign trail...

Speaking of Macleans, reminds me of my great uncle Wallie. He died just a few weeks ago, and one of his great loves was reading through Macleans from cover to cover. So your reference to that great Canadian journal brought back some fine memories. He was a dentist in Ontario for much of his life, and then for the last few years moved to BC to be closer to his son, also a dentist (out on some island off the coast of Vancouver, I think). Anyway, great guy. I think you would have liked him, Naut.
