Thank you, I consider that an extreme compliment. No one is immune from reflecting their personal bias as they express their opinions but an attempt to at least understand an opposing viewpoint is an exercise that is bound to strengthen one's own position. I try to adhere to this notion when I can.

cantey_1975 - Re: no disagreement from me
This is the key: "a genuine quest for knowledge" . . . the problem with any agenda is that it quite often can usurp this effort. And I don't suggest that there are not hidden agendas within the scientific community, there certainly are but they tend to fall into the universal realm of inescapable human shortcomings as opposed to reconciling dogma.

no disagreement from me
"research and discovery", or "unlocking God's mysteries", its all the same thing as long as there is a genuine quest for knowledge behind the scenes, and progress is always being made. If not, then it does not matter if it is labeled Christianity, Islam, scientolgy, atheism, etc., it is a simply a throwback mentality and dangerous.

cantey_1975 - I have no issues whatsoever with that perspective:
" . . . . science is man attempting to unlock God's mysteries through God given powers of reason and observation."
There is nothing inherently unhealthy with that viewpoint, we could refer to "unlock God's mysteries" as research and discovery. Where the problem arises within the agenda of creationism being promoted today, is that there are virtually no aspects of research and discovery involved in their efforts. Instead; there is only the forced attempts of reconciliation of a long ago written word with the world around us. Real evidence means nothing to these people, reality means nothing, the actual truth means nothing.

I think christiantiy and science are far more compatable than many christians believe, for whatever reason. To me, science is man attempting to unlock God's mysteries through God given powers of reason and observation. But of course, both science and religion are subject to agendas that throw things out of balence.
