Re: Re: Re: What is simple?

Thank you, Mousehop, for your excellent and highly appropriate comment! G.B. Shaw, in my opininion, was entirely correct, and if Heaven really is even similar to the conventional view, I really think that I would much rather stay "home," instead!

Thanks, again, for a great comment!

Re: Re: What is simple?
Quoting from George Bernard Shaw, "Heaven, as conventionally conceived, is a place so inane, so dull, so useless, so miserable, that nobody has ever ventured to describe a whole day in heaven, though plenty of people have describe a day at the seaside."

And Bob Marley, "When you know what life is worth, you will look for yours on Earth."  Because, after all, Earth has the advantage of being obvious, whereas Heaven, well, is about in line with Neverland.

Re: I guess the issue here
And the answer is that God never designs to cause death and disfiguerment, but to reduce it! Remember; this planet is a complex machine, and there will always be some pain, but I, for one, am not going to "second-quess" God and call Him stupid. Let other malcontents and bitter souls do that!  They will have their reward, such as that might be. I will, as an admitted man of puny intellect by comparison, give God the "benefit of any doubt."

I guess the issue here
is the question I have asked:  would the perfect designer design in such a manner as to cause death, disfigurement, birth results and more as the result of one of his designs: the woman's birth canal?

This is no stab at god, but at the human perception of god and in partiuclar Creationism and Intelligent Design.

But otherwise, I cannot answer your question because pain and suffering and death are part of the entire equation and will be so.  The only thing I can say about pain and suffering that comes to the individual is that people have to first decide that, first, it is a part of life and living, secondly, no one is special in that the pain and suffering is directed at them specifically, or at all really, it just happens, and, thirdly, with the right attitude, we can grow and learn from pain and suffering.

Jesus said that it happens to all, righteous and  unrighteous alike.

Re: What is simple?
Another good comment, Mousehop, but who says that there will be nothing to do in Heaven?!! I have an idea that Heaven will be much different than even many of us Believers envision, and that there will be plenty to do. It will be far different than sitting on some cloud, playing a harp, and singing praises to God!  God does not need or want that!!

What is simple?
Of course, an evolutionist believes that all living things have environmental stresses to overcome.  A religious believer must accept pain and suffering as necessary, because without them, there is no point to religion.  Without pain, what is there to explain?  The "simple question" is, What is the point of life?  After all, an eternity in heaven with nothing to do is hardly incentive to obey commandments.

Re: Some say

Good comment, Cantey.

Now, let's see if the Non-believers can improve on God's plan, or if they are only intent on discredting it!

some say that that pain accentuates the pleasure. You know, the contrast increases each extreme.
