Corbin_Dallas,
You obviously missed the point of my post? And chose to inject a "gotcha" into the debate. The deliberations that led to the Nuclear standstill in Europe had nothing to do with Cuba. Cuba created the urgency! In reality the USSR and America were equally uncomfortable with the other's IRBM in their backyard (flight time too short).

Re: Corbin_Dallas,
Actually, GB....I was living it......I was there, my brother was sitting in tents in Southern Florida as part of the prepared invasion force. I don't have to Google it, I remember it first hand. It's sad that you're either too young or to naive to have known this yourself.....

Corbin_Dallas,
I am really disappointed with this reply. It is clear you Googled this to satisfy your ignorance. I am not going to play this game! The point of my post was lost in your universe.

Hmmmm.....
You must have been living in the same parallel universe you live in here and now.......The Soviet Union got major Concessions out of Kennedy. We pulled missile systems out of Europe that we already had there and a guarantee that we would never try and invade Cuba again.......
This I might point out came a little over a year after the embarrasing fiasco with the Bay of Pigs invasion when he abandoned Cuban Freedom Fighters on the beach, withholding the agreed upon air support.......
It was a bit different from what happened in your universe.......
