Pat...
I gave you an example...following that statement.
It doesn't mean "exactly" where you are, no one can be that. But simply that I know how it is to be severely depressed, hate your life, hate yourself, wish you were dead...

When anyone says, "i've been where you are", how can they be certain?

I didn't say it was easy.

It took me years to get to where I am today...and there are many areas of my life that still need work.
Some things will come easy...some things take a lot of work. (I'm still working towards that "rich" thing
) ... You have to focus on one area at a time...one thing at a time...a small piece, if you can.
Say you decide to work with forgiveness first...start with one person, preferably an easier one...save the harder ones for last... and always remember to include yourself also.
You may not see great results the first time, or even the second...just keep focusing on one thing for a few days....then let it go and focus on something else for a few days.
Go back and work on things as you need to...but one thing at a time.
If you have one thing to focus on, it will keep those thoughts from racing so much.
Focus on your goal..but if other thoughts drift through...don't fight them (that is only giving them energy and you don't want to do that)...let them drift through, like a bubble and dissipate.
If you want, I can talk with you. I can help you develop a plan or give you my thoughts or some ideas or something. If you want, you can email me through the blogit system.
Just an idea. I'm not telling you what you should do or how you should live your life...but if you should decide you want the help... I will do what I can.
I know what you meant, and I never felt your comments were insincere.
Don't assume though that when someone writes some "happy" or "loving" poetry that it means they ignore the suffering of others. Many times, poetry reflects our hopes and dreams...and sometimes, it's just fiction for fun.

ps
i keep saying poetry sucks but that's not exactly what i mean. If i say i like your poem i really do. i think it just makes me feel bad that people choose to their own personal happiness while ignoring other people's suffering. i think it's depression and being drunk (not now) that make me fele that way. There's a lot of great poets on here. I laid in bed at least a couple of hours trying to meditate but had the same repeated racing thoughts of last night. i'm just starting to feel better a little.

All i can tell you is if it was that simple i would have been rich famous and in love years and years ago. Even though we don't always agree, it does make me feel better that you are trying to help me. It's the thought that counts. thx

You KNOW poetry sucks...then of course you are right. You know it.
If you knew with that strong of belief that your life is good, it would get better.

Pat...
I really don't believe in Karma. I don't believe we are punished before during or after this life, for any reason.
I am speaking from understanding..and from a metaphysical viewpoint.
I have been there...were you are.
My childhood, and young adult life was the shit shit shitiest imaginable. I used to wish it was possible to just lay down and die. Everyone hated me. Everywhere I went, it seemed that everyone was out to get me.....like I was singled out, to be abused.
My relationships with men sucked. I was a victim. No one ever really loved me. I never loved me. Even my family abused me in ways.
I am only trying to help you. I've seen how you were when you came here. You were doing better then than now. What works is loving yourself...and believing you are worthy of being loved by others.
If you stay in a frame of mind that your life is miserable or that everything bad always happens to you (like was my thinking) then that is what you will always manifest for yourself.

Didn't mean to snap at Sunny but it just never ends for me. Cruel fate, Bad karma, born under a bad sign whatever; just keeps getting worse. i've read many many positive thinking books; it can elevate your mood, the rest is nonsense. If Karma is true positive thinking cannot be true because Karma says your present life is affected by all your past lives.

Wow...
Ya know...in a bar, you're gonna have stuff like that.
And once people have it in for you, they will always have it in for you. Is there not some other place you could go?
The main thing is try to stay positive..which you were doing fairly well.
You seem social enough (I'm not good with social things), so I think it is more or less a state of mind... If you believe people will accept you, they will..if you don't, they won't.
You know how a dog can sense fear? Well people are the same way...only they don't much realize it, but they can tell when you are feeling the victim, and they prey on that.
