I thought about that point and even included it in this pot's first draft, but couldn't explain it like I wanted. After wasting too much time trying to figure it out, I left it out completely.

Frankly, I don't know how Queen V does it. Somehow, she's found a middle ground. I'm more prone to extremes. Either I'd become a constant emotional wreck or I'd harden to the point where I felt nothing at all.

I honestly didn't fathom this post would have such an effect. I guess sometime I take my writing for granted.

I wasn't, but if crying is a good thing, by all means go right ahead.

Wow. This one hits on so many levels, Talion.
My Beoved is nurse -- she has those moments, too, and the compartmentalizing thing, while I know it's something we all do, is something that's probably far more of a sanity preserver for them than most.
As a journalist, I have to do a little of it as well -- but not nearly like they do. And when those bad days hit, and those brutal truths bull their way through, well...as I said, you hit it, here, on all cylinders.
Outstanding, as always.

I'm impressed with everything about this, Talion!
The hardest thing about loving someone, perhaps, is the certainty that one day, one of them will be the one who dies first, and the other will be the one left alone.
Queen V had that truth in her face that day.

New love is silver, wait for the West, old love is gold love,
old love is best.
I write it in all wedding guest books, etc. Gave it to Mom and Dad decades ago when they promised each other to live forever. He's gone now. Life is like that.
She misses her friend and I love all hospital personnel who risk their hearts by being human with us family members.

You got me to on this one
The tears are a flowing. The love you spoke of with this couple is clear but nothing so clear as the love the two of you share.

Well, I certainly didn't mean to make you cry. I guess that makes me better than Georgie Porgie. At least had to kiss them.
