I don't think it is too swift... considering the story began sometime in October, and it is in this chapter March. Theyr relationship had been long distance... she did accelerate the last part of it... because she was really begining to feel anxious that if she stayed she wouldn't be able to do what she wanted.
And as for her religion, since she had been trying so hard to do her will, she figured she couldn't really do God's will. This story is not a simple lesbian love story. It may be the primary focus but it is more centered on her relationship with God.

Chris is moving very swiftly into her new life. also, it does not seem she should leave her religion behind altogether. i wonder how it will all turn out.
