I find much fragility ...
... shoulder by shoulder with strength and independence in your poem. It's like a sad goodbye in a distant "at-last" feeling that finally can disappear, whilst the strength of being conscious of what's happening can start acting as the knowledge it holds.
A kind of a brain versus heart acknowledgement ? -
