So many choices for commenting, but I'll pick Paladin...
I was a major fan, had gone into labor once and wouldn't leave for the hospital until the end of the program. I liked the literary references, the twist on the white hat thing that made the man in black a good guy. I also loved Paladin's homely mug. I don't remember his "heyboy" or "heygirl" thing, but it wouldn't have caught my attention. In the 1950s, when Paladin was popular, most members of the caucasian majority were perfectly comfortable with their racist leanings, even told rude jokes in public. As for the pioneer era (which the series represented) the disrespect for Asian servers would be a mere hint at the true abuses that went on. I remember so much else wrong in the '50s. If I hadn't been married with children by 1960, I'd have been with the rest of the revolutionaries -- streaking, dancing to rock & roll, joining protest marches instead of changing diapers and putting dinner on the table as Attilla came through the door. It's good we've grown up a bit, but there's a long way to go.

My interset lay in the yummy bakery fare!!!!!!!LOL
You know I'm going to frown on the cigarettes so I won't. I've enjoyed too many of them myself before I kicked the habit.

the news
Murder, rape, robbery, war, death, disease, immigration, terrorists, sky-high gas prices, the same old same old. Just what everyone needs to kick off a great day.
I hear you there
