There seems to be a bit of anger with many people, over the subject of stolen work, or stolen ideas. If you cannot come up with your own original ideas, you should not be blogging. Anytime you use someone else's idea, you need to give them credit. Period. End of sentence, end of thought

one of my biggest pet peeves in the world is someone claiming anothers work as thier own. I discovered just how personal that feels when I found a story that I had written and was published through "Chicken Soup For The Soul" on the internet, without credit or permission.
I have had many contact me and ask for permission to use that particular piece and I have always granted permission at no charge, because I have believed in the causes it was supporting. But when someone takes your work, they take a part of you, they take a piece of you and it feels very violating.
Folks must remember even on the internet, copyright violation is a CRIME and can be prosecuted by law.

That is so low... to steal someone elses' work is like taking their child. I am so sorry it happened to you, you should by all means report them and tell everyone who they are so they can be known for waht they are. Terrible thing to happen, but hey don't blame us all... don't go away, if you do they win. <<<<<< hugg>>>>>> for you :-)

I missed whatever it is that has riled you up but as Wiley said, you should just remember the people around here who are not thieves or are not controversial and continue with your writing...

You don't need to focus on the bad luv, just focus on we who love you and let the rest go. Think of your own health and peace of mind and delete the rest

i don't know the details but yes there are copycats
Everywhere I am afraid. Just remember that the good people outweigh the others.
Keep them in your focus.

I know what you mean about the lazy chucklebutts that refuse to have an original thought. Like poetry. If you want to have a blog in poetry, make it your own poetry. Don't just copy the classics unless you are going to do a literary criticism. That would be worth reading.

It may help you to know...
Once a writer has written something, it is protected by law. You don't actually have to do anything more with it, only to be able to prove you wrote it first. Anything you have offered here--well, here it is, in front of everyone, the evidence that you wrote it first.
Also, it is nice to know that because this is a subscription site, presenting it here is not the same as publishing--which it would be on a public site. If you present, or publish on a public site, then you can no longer offer first rights to any other publisher, unless you substantially alter the material.
