When you said an old house...

I guess you meant really, really old--if pterodactyls have been nesting there since it was built!

I hope you're having great fun it, and your new job, new town, and all!

I guess you have moved! Sounds like an interesting house! Any hauntings yet?

Glad you got a chuckle, CD!
Hopefully it won't be that bad. This is a small town, but it's the county seat and it's near the coast. More civilization here than they would like to admit, I'm sure....

LOL.......Thanks for the laugh......
Here's hoping you don't wind up having a "Green Acres" experience!

Glad you enjoyed it, Bel!
A corgi is a great little dog with a big dog personality. But when they overeat, they tend to look like, well, a loaf of bread wth legs...

Strat, I spent a night in your old house!

     Strat,

No kidding Buddy, several buddies and I spent a long, very long, night next to that house when it was located in Canada! We went up there to watch motorcycle races in Harewood, Ontario. It appeared to have been used as a chicken coop before you knew about it. As my buddy Dave Bradbury ascended the stairway, looking for a place to unroll our sleeping bags on a 6" layer of chicken mattress, Ricky Herrington came screaming down the stairway, yelling about a thousand BATS! trying to make nests in his hair. I would have been suitably amused, had I not been right behind David who faced Ricky as he left the second floor. We all wound up in a tangle of humanity, at the bottom of the stairs, with me on the bottom. It turned out to have been ONE flapping bird who had forgotten how to get out of the house, the same way he got in. We all forgave Ricky because nobody had broken any bones. That and the case of Molson's beer we had gotten around before we got drowsy. The next morning we were cooked out of the car when the morning sun drove us all out of the Dave's black Chrysler, with a BAD case of "cotton mouth", and nothing to drink, but the last hot beer! Ricky became "Ralph," right after he drained it.

That cracked me up, too, FYS!
In fact, when my band recently played a benefit for the Humane Society, my Beloved brought the Wonder Corgi with her to participate in something called "Yapy Hour" where folks brng their dogs and have contests and such. She made the dog a costume -- colored an old t-shirt to look like, you guessed it, a Wnder Bread wrapper. However, our dog lost to three Chihuahuas dressed like the three amigos. oh well....

Strat

I always love your stories, so full of detail, I always feel as if I am watching it unfold versus reading it.

By the way, what exactly is a corgi? Off to google to find out!

"a loaf of bread with legs”....now that's priceless.

My husband and I also have an older home, built in 1924.  The house leans a little, though---it was moved from across the main Avenue to its current property site tucked away on a little side street, the previous owner loved the home so much.

It also needs quite a bit of TLC---we're currently working the yard while the sun shines, but come November, look out upstairs bathroom.
