which is defined in the Law as Libel: "NOUN: 1a. A false publication, as in writing, print, signs, or pictures, that damages a person's reputation. b. The act of presenting such material to the public."

Disseminating false information that harms one's reputation is a sin.

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor."

This should be where it ends and where you should at least admit that the letter is false and that you were misinformed and, now that you have been properly informed, you are sorry for disseminating such misinformation.

This is not an attack, it is what is called "correcting in love".

I may suggest that your candidate run for president of Germany or maybe Iraq since they obviously desire him more than the 40% of Americans do.

I didn't see my son attacking you in any way. He was just pointing out the fallacy of the letter you passed along. He was calling that letter childish behavior and describing such material as false. He feels that those who pass along what would legally be called libel should apologize for their part in spreading such false damaging information.

You do have a somewhat thin skin.

here's one thing

when one basically smears a candidate for president, like the writer of the so-called military journal did (who wasn't even a part of it), which was subsequently dismissed as being spurious; then people begin broadcasting it -- then there has to be a voice of reason to point out the spuriousness of the original piece.

Doing so has nothing to do with the person passing it on -- it just has to do with telling the truth -- for if people accept lies and allow them to smear a person's reputation, then we as a country have lost the decency we would hope to attain.

To be respected, one must respect.

Read what kabu wrote. That is what I said "DITTO" to. It has nothing to do with the title. Read kabu's comment again. I am agreeing with what was said here concerning your actions towards Justi. I am not sure where you got me saying I am not an American. The title was about kabu not being an American concerning your statement about Bush. that has nothing to do with the comment which I agreed with. Yes, I do know what the word DITTO means.

The rest is about how everyone else in the world is wrong except yourself. Comments such as:

This is what I am talking about here. It seems that for yourself you see everyone trying to understand or trying to come up to your level. I wriet my feelings and thoughts out on Blogit just like everyone else and I say strongly what I agree with and do not agree with but I certainly do not constantly tell people that maybe one day they can reach my level. This is just one example of what I am talking about and it basically seems that there is a demeaning tone to your comments with someone who disagrees. I simply do not buy that you never started it as you say and overall I feel that you make many assumptions which are honestly not true.

I would lie to keno why you think I should compliment of apologize to those who are instilling and mocking me here? Twice you said I had an 'inability to give a compliment or an apology without a backstab' In both cases I am lost as to why you felt I should give either. I would never compliment a person for mocking me and I owe no one an apology. Or did you think I was trying to give a complement or apology in my comments here? Where would you get that idea from? I am not about to compliment or apologize for an attack against me.

Please don't let Kooka keep you from writing on blogit. Your opinion and comments matter to myself and others, and we value what you have to say. You've written some great stuff, and if you have the energy and generally enjoy writing, then I say KEEP WRITING!

Kooka does have a way of putting people on the defensive w/ his writing style. I've said it on his blogs, have let it get to me, have been annoyed by it. . . and have attempted to accept that this appears to be how his annoying method of communication. Argh!

So please don't let him keep you from writing, alright? The rest of us like your feisty style!!

Justi, I just started reading you, but I'll miss you

We are of two different faiths, but respect binds us. Please read Ariala's blog about Opinion Vs. Bullying - it hits the nail on the head here. I know what it feels like to be embroiled in a blogit battle, but truly, the sooner you disengage and ignore those who start name-calling, the sooner your life will be less stressful. And don't respond to their comments. If you don't click on their posts, but they click on yours, in a way they are paying you!! Isn't that ironic?

I will go months without leaving her a comment, and then the moment I do she goes off about how I am harassing her every day and won't leave her alone and am just straight out mean to her.

Justi shows herself to be childish with so many of her posts and her replies to me about how horrible I am when all I am doing is disagreeing with her. I can be as polite as it gets, but she goes off about how I ma attacking her if all I say is 'I disagree with you here and this is why'.

She has yet to ever try to be a 'nice old lady ' to me, even though I am very often polite to her when I feel the need to comment to her.

A plea

Yip, I'm butting in what seemingly has nothing to do with me, but I am also blogging and find the issue discussed here relevant to us all. I'm not going to be partisan, or at least I'll try my best. I think we should all accept the fact that we all feel strongly about our positions regarding politics and religion. I'm somewhat of a wayward wind on these subjects and I would like to retain the opportunity to express my views on these matters too. I do think we should try to avoid insulting remarks but we are all humans and our feelings are not to be shied away from either. I really hope that no blogger will be banned from blogit or stop writing due to the disagreement on issues and the perceived attacks (intended as such or not) and emotionally charged statements made on either side of the divide apparent here. This very disagreement and expression of diverse views is what keeps me coming back here and I think we can all learn from each other, even when we get into heated arguments. So my plea here will be to forgive and forget for the sake of all bloggers. I also disagree with a lot of opinions expressed on this site by various people and I will attack such opinions in my blogs and in my comments, as we all do, and hope that nobody will take personal offence, since I have my knife in for the opinions and not the people. Lets try to keep this a forum of open discussion and free expression of all and any view.

Strange, I actually only use 'childish' to describe those like you who act, well childish. I really don't use the word that much. It is being used a lot here because it is relevant to the issue.

I am not the one who has issue with people with differing views. I am the one blocked form posting on YOUR blogs, not the other way around. And you blocked me because I disagreed with you, nothing more. I was in fact very polite to you in the last comment I was able to post to you. I guess the problem is I used FACTS to show you that your outrageous ASSUMPTIONS were wrong.

As for your ASSUMPTION about me trying to be a 'bigger person' that just shows me you have nothing to defend yourself with. This is all just an attack on my character because I disagree with you above actually trying to prove that I am mistaken. I can get along great with those I disagree with, when they show me respect. Here on Blogit once you show me you have no respect for me or my views, that is what I show you in return. It is that simple.

Justi, I'm sorry for whatever has happened to you...I've not read the

posts you're talking about, only this one that you've written. Just take a break, but don't leave. This site has views from A to Z, from left to right...I don't agree with so much that is said here, and have stopped reading much of it. But everyone pays their membership dues and that gives them a right to write what they do. That also gives you and I and others a right to share our faith openly, and so let's continue. Jesus is coming soon and we must keep our eyes focused on Him, not on the movements of disbelief. Keep sharing what you believe. Put on Christ and let His love permeate through you. I'm praying...

From what I keep seeing I enjoy life much more than you are those who are as blind and sheep minded as you are. What do I have to be bitter about? You are the one who blocked me because I showed proof that you had no idea what you were talking, and instead of admitting your mistake, you blocked me. After all so far that law has done NONE of what you claimed it would do, because all you did was spread BS propaganda about a law that you disliked because it said that the schools were not allowed to teach anything negative about homosexuals. I guess you dislike the idea that your hate-filled ideas should only be taught in private houses and unenlightened churches. Were you hoping to create a hate movement in the schools so that kids learn early on to hate people who are different from them? Sorry but it is not the school's job to be teaching hate for you.

To see someone trying to paint me as some great villain of Blogit must really excite you. Hell I figure you'll be the one leading the pitchforks and torches to try and burn me down using this load of BS here as your fuel. Yes, you and so many other owe Obama a great big apology. I've seen nothing of substance from any conservative here on Blogit about Obama. You are all just picking away like sad little children who care not about the big picture, but are just pouting because they can't get their way. There is such a huge lack of integrity in the conservatives right now it is really showing just how weak you are as a group.

And don't try to blame me for you taking a leave from Blogit. That is just pathetic. I have not caused anyone to leave this site. If you can't handle disagreement, which is the number one problem here, then you shouldn't be here anyway. The only blogger I can think of who you might truly be able to say I drove away was the plagiarizer who got caught in so many lies and I finally showed that most of his posts here were taken from elsewhere. But of course since he was a conservative fundamentalist, I guess you'll defend all his lies and plagiarizing because he must have been in the right to do all of that because he was on your side. I personally don't want plagiarizers here, since it makes us all look bad and is against Blogit policy.

I have already proven to you that your issue with me finding something in fiction to be inspirational and something of value for people to think about shows that you have no understanding of our society and where inspiration comes from. Well, I can tell you that trying to tell people to believe in what was said by a fictional character on Babylon 5, a fictional program, is something we can all live by and should is ridiculous. This is what you said in an earlier post. It always so interesting that everyone who disagrees with your post are "missing the point by a mile". Its is so funny that everything that Justi stated here is what I have heard from you for years. To be honest, I left Blogit for one year because I was simply tired of the same reason Justi is leaving. I finally decided, no I enjoyed Blogit and I am not going to let anyone make me leave. Everything Justi said here is true, I will miss Justi. In this, I have also lost a reader.

I feel that Blogit should investigate because loosing customers for any reason is not good and I feel that the problem should be dealt with. Justi is right, by the way, that Kooka is the one who always starts it. Sorry to see you go Justi, but I know what you are talking about here.

I was telling you that you need to be fair and that you own Obama an apology for posting that e-mail to try and prove a point about him before it was determined to be true or not. In the end it has been proven to be false, and so the adult thing to do would be to make it right by saying 'I was wrong' since you did something wrong. I never said you were 'childish' just that certain actions were childish and left it up to you to either do right, or show yourself to be childish. I pointed out that you posted misinformation to try and make a point, and you are decided in how to present yourself over that misinformation.

Do you not want people to tell you that you are spreading lies? My view about the Bible being fiction is opinion, since it cannot be proven one way or the other (Although if that was the only thing you got out of that post, then you missed the point by a mile). Most of the information you keep on posting about Obama is very often easily proven to be false, at which point it is up to you to show yourself to be an adult and that you have integrity and admit you were wrong to post such misinformation and make it right by saying 'what was posted here is not true'. I guess it all comes down to how truthful you wish to present yourself to be.

I know I would be very ashamed of myself to learn that I was passing along misinformation and would do all I could to show integrity by admitting my mistake and making it right. That is one reason why I will not repost e-mails of the kind you often do. You will never find me saying such things about McCain, until I have verified the facts ad know that what I am posting is the truth.

Just because what I am saying disagrees with your views does not mean I am out to get you or trying to bring you down.

And my first comment to you there was just pointing out what someone else said. I would like to know what about that you took as being 'ugly'. I showed a valid counterpoint to what you were saying in a very polite manner.

I have in the past tried to have a civil discussion with you and just because I disagree with you, you have accused me of attacking you and calling you names. This post of yours is filled with outrageous accusations that are about as false as it gets. I have not tired to chased anyone off, just hoped I could get people to be adult.
