I personally believe in life after death- that there is a heaven and a hell.  I think everyone who walks this earth experiences a little of what heaven and hell must be like- hell with things like rape and murder.  Heaven with things like the birth of a child and being in love.  My mother believes that this earth is actually a sort of hell and that's what the Bible means in the part- "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil."  (I hope I quoted you right Mom, if not- sorry!!)

What is the meaning of life?

I guess most people find comfort and reassurance in believing that something will happen so we are not put on this earth in vain.

I like your thoughts, your ...

... philisopy. It's not mine but, I think it's good for Blogit to embrace different views of the spiritual aspect versus our physical being. One-sided religious voices use to be the most prominent - and those who don't walk that path are easily made pity as a lost soul or ... anything else that tell that religious people are the righteous and best - but, it's not like that from where I sit/stand/walk ... move about as a curious scorpion.

But I believe our senses differ - and some may sense another "reality" than others and, a person who do so isn't less worth than a person who claim that it's nothing more than we can see and touch. Isn't it better to look at diversity as a good gift than try to ridicule it, condemn it, or as some: even kill.

Science people don't die because it maybe could be more than they want to acknowledge - I think they're too stubborn.

I think the question is essentially irrelevant...
If only because divorced form my body and it's hormonal responses, conditioned responses and biological imperatives I would no longer be recognisable as me.

However, as long as belief leads nobody to commit harm then I have no problem with it, it may be impossible to prove but it is also impossible to disprove and so your view on it depends on whether you believe in it or not - there are no facts in this case and an absence of evidence proves neither argument.  After all I only have the word of some nerdy looking folks that there's such things as atoms - for all I know those effects could be caused by magic

As most religions, at their core, advocate being nice to each other and looking after the planet - these seem like good messages no matter what the source.

Fear of death is the father of all fears and is fiercesome in its tenacity

Imagine how society would change if we could find definitive proof of one way or the other?

or

Do you think all religions would perish should we be visited by alien beings from another world/universe/dimension?

Your thoughts are interesting as I learn toward an agnostic viewpoint of the world and they compliment mine

Although I see us as so infantile in our development to even think to begin to grasp anything really

Like a baby in-utero, whom has absolutely no inclination or clue or idea of what lies in store for him, I mean imagine that being imagining the concept of time for instance... we have no idea what lies beyond our limited vision and senses.  I feel that reality need not be constrained to fit the perceptions of us, that is too convenient to rely on in my views....Thank you for your thoughts here, you've helped me gather mine, and like always i learn so much being a bloGGer
