Re: Kinda cheap of him to use God as an enforcer. Makes you wonder
Pat_B - a cheap trick is the way to describe it. I often wonder how the connection is made in the minds of people that act this way in terms of how they justify their actions. Like some of the psychos we have seen on this site, they must truly believe in their minds, that they are doing something good for people and gaining favor with the big guy.

Dark_Moon - I've run into a few of those and more often have seen thieves

and liars use religion as a means of gaining confidence.

One junk/scrap dealer in particular with a cross emblazened on his truck and business card, I list as one of the least trustworthy people I know on this planet. But his con works for him, a few "hallelujahs" and "bless the lords" muttered in the appropriate places, opens some doors for him that would not be opened otherwise.

sam444 - there is much more about the man that is sad
His adult aged children have disowned him because of his rigid beliefs, his family relationships are in complete disarray, yet he is a very intelligent man.

Luz_Briar - I agree - lying is a necessity in this world
. . . . and particularly justified when the bastards deserve it.

Kinda cheap of him to use God as an enforcer. Makes you wonder
about the mob he belongs to. On the other hand my ex mother-in-law used to potty train babies by saying "Jesus loves little ones who use the potty," and "Jesus doesn't like dirty little children."  I wanted to wrap that black widow in her web and tuck her into a cave, but that came much, much later.

...and then there are those of certain 'religions'/denominations/whatever who believe that in business it is ok to lie, cheat and steal from anyone who is not a member of their religion...a couple of those come to mind...Moon
