When the company I work for started casual Fridays a few years ago, I started wearing my earrings. When my supervisor (an ultra-conservative retired military guy) finally noticed, he gave me a look of intense disappointment. I don't know what he thinks about guys with earrings, but it was obviously hard to believe I was like that. I never wore the earrings again until he transferred to another department.

I had a nice pair of diamond studs a few years ago. My mother "borrowed" them and I never got them back. I prefer the hoops anyway.

I had a pair of larger hoops, about the size of quarters. Unfortunately, Queen V doesn't let me wear them anymore. She wore them one day and conveniently "lost" one. Oh, well.

Great story, Talion. I, too, get the "bad Chinese food" look when people
notice that my ears are pierced. Especially in rural areas. Heaven forbid I actually put on earrings.
