Beyond the top of my stairs was an abbys and a beckoning light beyond that. We leaped and after much falling, landed in a pure land of brilliant light.

Strange Lady , may shed some light on your question. In more mundane wording: I felt free and explorative in spirit, but always hindered by the assumptions about normality in my social surround. I was in a school that was run by the state and the education system was called "Christian", but they promoted racial hatred and closed mindedness at every opportunity, except those who spoke silently through the books they prescribed for reading. I'll not go into detail on the situation at home here, there was too much complexity. This display of extremes at home gave the required tension to draw the bow, so to speak, that launched us kids into unknown territory.
