TAPS. - using a blog template can be as simple as copying and pasting
Or you can take it as far as you want if that sort of thing peaks your interest. The first step is simply doing a bit of fact finding. I am assuming you are on the old format because of your join date, I am certain of this but it is worth verifying as the first step. To verify this you will need to click on 3 links on your Blogit account. It will only take a few seconds, if you go to this post: HERE . . scroll down a bit when you get there and look for images with red arrows indicating where you click on your Blogit account interface. If you follow those 3 arrows and are looking at one code field box (not two), you are on the old format and you have also done 75% of what is necessary to enhance your blog with a basic template. Seriously, once you have the template code I will give you copied to your clipboard, you simply go through that same 3 click process and then replace the code you see with the new code.
You can do more if you want to, things such as finding an image to use as an avatar or an image to create a banner and color scheme from but this is really not necessary. Let me show you a couple of examples, both are stable and work very well. (this blog also uses the same template as the two examples) HERE is the layout I recommend, though there are already a couple of black templates in use, I have other colors. HERE is an example with a few minor changes including a cut out at the top for a blogger user name. I have several other styles as well but they are less sophisticated.
There are a few limitations to be aware of at the outset. Images posted in a blog template that are wider than the content area will distort the template. You lose the calling card feature from the the footer area and the "previous entries" feature from the sidebar. They could be added but were left out of the template to make it look less cluttered. There is just something about enhancing a blog that makes it more interesting to read and use.

Re: TAPS. - one more thing - by virtue of the length of your tenure here on
gomedome, I'm not sure I would know what to do with it as I really have no education/background in computer stuff, but yes, I would appreciate that very much. I'm always interested in learning something new. Thanks.

Re: TAPS. - thank you - yes I am married and have two girls in their early 20's
gomedome, Thank you so much for your candid reply. But, you don't know me very well, LOL. Your presumption was totally surprising to me because I was only on this blog because I had been reading the dialogue between you and gap. And, I began following the links that you had suggested to her. And, I got to remembering that I used to read your other blog about the area where you grew up, and that I haven't done that for a long time. I had not even considered that you might think that I was being curious/nosy about your family's beliefs. If that was what I had really wanted to know, I would have asked you outright. I'm not really a nosy person. You must be very proud of your family, and visa versa.

Blogit, you would be on the old format.
I have a number of blog templates that only work on the old format. Just say the word and I can do a quick modification of one of them for you. (or for anyone that is on the old format - pre summer 2006)

Kabu - sorry that I didn't get back to your comment yeaterday.
You must have been in a non humid area if it was a nice day where you were. It was so uncomfortably humid here that it was hard to breath let alone think.

TAPS. - thank you - yes I am married and have two girls in their early 20's
My wife is an administrator at the local college, my eldest daughter works in movie graphics, while my youngest daughter is attending university coincidently taking exactly the same courses that her father took. Her marks are better than mine were however, she must get that from her mother. But the thing you really want to know, I presume by your asking this question in this blog is what are their beliefs? . . . my wife is a church elder in a moderate Christian church, my youngest is a Christian, my eldest is an atheist.

gomedome, you are a very interesting person, not just because of this blog on religion, but as a whole, including your blogs and links to other blogs and sites on the internet. It makes me also interested in considering (and I know it's none of my business) if you have a wife and/or children and what any of them (if there are such) might do or what they might be like.

it's too nice a day for nasty thoughts. Or indeed to think at all.

gapcohen - for what it is worth, this post is speaking of other people
and has no relationship to previous posts.
I wrote it because it will undoubtebly be read by the offending party, leaving him with the choice of either exposing his childish game or refraining from the activity. It's not that I really care about these things, I've been harassed by knuckleheads before, but it can be bad for the site as a whole.

The themes of my posts usually revolve around tolerance. If you read back on your own posts, you'll see that I once came to your defense vs. a rather obnoxious blogger. As I said on one of my post comments, there should be more connecting and less dissecting. Peace, man.

Sunnybeach7 - Re: Gome
That's one way of looking at it. I find it humorous however, when a person becomes obsessed with refuting another person. Especially when that effort dominates the themes of everything they post.

Gome
This is where they wait until I post this blog (in this category only) and then they post an insult laden rebuttal to this blog shortly thereafter. Just think of all the inspiration you create in these folks. lol
