Menopause... the pause we take to reconsider men...

Yeah, me too... very annoying, I hate being hot!  Trouble is, at this age, I'm being hot in all the wrong ways.   And at all  the wrong times...   bleah!

Hot flashes?  Power surges!

How funny that piece is... My favorite is the no sleep headache that
happens about 10:00 a.m.  I would write more but I'm not awake yet, I'll be back to read the story more thoroughly later.  Have a great day gap.

Hot flashes

     Mal,

I have enjoyed your writing immensely. As is usually the case, I try to picture the author when I read something. I am glad that you put a photo of yourself in your site because I now know what you look like, when you have slipped on ice and fallen down. When one reads several writers work, it helps to be able to separate them with a mental picture of each. You had me really laughing with your recounting of the biker Jesus freak. I had to read it to Marilyn. She was a little busy at the time, and only humored me, at first. Then she really got into it and stopped what she was doing to hear every bit of it. We both thank you for a pleasurable experience.

Re:
Hey, Zen - good hearing from you.  I knew you'd like the piece in NYer.  I was rolling when I read it.  Your lack of sleep pattern doesn't seem to effect your zest for and great approach to life.  To answer your former questions; no - no tats anywhere (my age spots can be mistaken for  bodyart to some extent, though) and no medication.  I'm one of the few people I know who doesn't take anything for anything.  I've been lucky that way, I guess - my chemestry seems to be in balance all by itself.  Now that I'm not sleeping though, I've got to figure out how to get that back into whack soon!

Mal, I love the New Yorker piece. Yes, I can relate. This has been my primary "issue" for my entire life. MS has made it even worse. I have absolutely NO sleep "pattern". I just listen to my body. If it's 2:10 in the afternoon and I want to sleep, I sleep. I've tried pretty much EVERY remedy. I've just accepted that this is my "lot" in life.......could be worse. At least I don't have to get up for work any longer. I really don't know HOW I did THAT all those years.

Re:
Vogue - you have ten years on me.  I'm hoping by the time I'm 61, this will all be behind me!! My Mom is 75, looks 50 and travels like an 18 year old, so between my blogit traveling friends (you and TAPS, mostly) and my Mom, I've got some great role models.
