Isn't that the truth. That is what I would want to do for a neighbor and would want one to do for me.

Why argue with success or in this case punish success.  Lives were saved and he did what needed to be done.  No Justi, life is not fair.

It isn't fair. Things often aren't fair. This thing is down right stupid. People were saved. It equates to jerking a child out of the way of an 18 wheeler. It is right without reservation.

Justi, in cases such as these terrible wildfire, it must be so very difficult to always make the right decision for everyone concerned.  No matter what one does in these situations, there is something that is not right for someone.   This man stood up for what he believed in and did a great job and now he is suffering for it.   Doesn't seem fair.

this isn't the world that I knew when I was young. This was common sense
once. My Dad always back burned for safety on the farm when I was a kid; as did all his neighbors, you would have been seen as irresponsible to do less. and people would burn a whole section if a large fire was raging so as to help stop it. You have such commonsense.Love you

Writer of Light. .
Can you beat that? I think not! It seems the cat was created with an appetite for rats and I will be totally happy when they manage to eat them all. Not likely because of fancy cat food in crystal dishes. Animals are carnivorous and somebody should tell PETA!

Justi you always right on things that really gets my fire burning. what we got is a pack chicken @#!# pansies running this out fit. forgive my language but we are all grown folks around here. They think they are the only one's with any kind of since. There is an old saying I am sure that it is as old is the written language, fight fire with fire, truthfully thats the only way to do it. Our native american brothers that I am proud to know that I am a part of, beings my mothers mother was full blooded apache and my old grandma was half cherokee. grandma told me stories her mothers mother and fathers father told them about how there people would burn intentionally every year just so this type of thing would not happen. We have left it up to these so called educated morons that think just because they have a degree in some fancy peice of paper to prove it, they can make all the rules, stupid.... we have left our common sense somewhere along the way. The reason for burning every year is to prevent undergrowth from takeing over and getting high into the canopy of the forest which make's a hell raising, rip roaring, forest fire shore enough, if you catch my drift. They are to busy being smart to really use there heads. I once worked as a qual guide in burke county georgia, on a plantation called buckeye plantation. I worked there for about three years. one of my jobs was to burn off under growth every year, it don't take no genius to get it done. just a little common sense. You have inspired me once again, I am going to do some writing on some of my fire episodes at buckeye, If I can get wifey to edit. God bless

From the same state . . .

. . . where a farmer's tractor was impounded because he plowed his field, not knowing he'd disturbed the habitat of an endangered subspecies of rat.

So glad to be a former Californian!
