Logical, tight thoughts...
As a blogger/journal/diary keeper, I often use words with artistic liberty assuming that most people understand the metaphorical meanings I weave throughout...It is an odd thing but I use words much the same way I mix my paints...Writing for me is not limited by much structure or rule, then again I am no pro. My writing more or less is an outlet for the dark in me to see the light

Pat_B - we are actually in full agreement
If you reread the last few lines of this post, I say that there is no "dark force". The "dark side" of human nature I fully agree exists if used as a descriptive term. It is when peopel attempt to suggest that it is a force or even an entity that I have a little trouble with.

Luz_Briar - I don't so much dispute the terminology when used to describe
negative human traits.
It is when people are insistent upon suggesting that there is more to it that I take issue with. Much like the example you use, or when they give this descriptive term consciousness or use it to deflect personal responsibility.

it reminds me of Ted Bundy. he said porn "made him do it" and people just ate it up. it's so much easier to believe in a "dark side" i suppose.

Sorry, Gome, but I have to disagree on this one.
There is a dark side. But it's not some unseen "force" or anything external. It's that selfish, inconsiderate, potentially cruel, impulsive part of myself that I work to correct. I remind myself meanness doesn't send the message that will resolve a problem or help someone.
