Hey, Nautikos, here I am!

What a story!  Sad, and ridiculous that that man would be fined.  I know about ER's and waiting, but what choice does one have?   This was extreme, I think, and where could the man think he was going?  I think health care is a big issue everywhere.  Poor guy!

How are you, sweetie?  I want to thank you for your cards and for thinking of me.  That was very special!  I'm doing much better now and hope to get on here more often.  Take care.  Love, Maggle

That is a scary thought, Naut...
...but, you never know, with the way things are going.

Thanks for feeding my medic phobia. Ewww, gross!
Can't believe they fined the poor guy. Schmucks everywhere, I guess.

Wow that is unbelievable...but I can understand the poor guy's frustration... those waits at the hospitals are ridiculous ...I guess China is not that different than here :-)

Hey that sounds like this place I've come to in Canada
I love this country with a passion but the health care is pathetic, and yes I can see this happening.

Naut - reminds me of the time I broke my friend out of the hospital.  She had just had a C-Section and caught a bad infection, and couldn't leave to see her newborn who was discharged first (with Dad).  By the 3rd day, she'd had it in "jail" and begged me to get her the hell out.  I can't believe I did that!  But she was fine.  Seeing her daughter was better medicine than any doctor could dole out.

Nautikos, I can certainly understand his frustration at waiting.  I might be tempted to try that myself some day.

Nautikos
When I was an undergrad, I met various other students who dreamed of becoming doctors. Some were diligent and hard working with their noses to the grindstone and eyes on the prize. However, others were the drinking-est, illegal drug taking-est, meaningless sex having-est, cheating-est, do any and everything except studying-est s.o.b.'s I'd ever seen. I made a vow that if I was ever ill or in an accident and one of these guys walked in with a white coat, I'm walking (or crawling) the hell out.
