I think it's part of his charm
Being so young--he seems to relate well to a lot of people, and he's not shy about taking advantage of that.
But I agree--having someone with more experience would be comforting, even if they're not quite as appealing to the "average joe" voter. Time to start marking the X next to competent, rather than likeable.
