Re: Having been born in Morocco, I do like to see people who care about
Interesting fact about you being a born African. There is a tendency to generalize to only one or two categories of African people, but that is simply due to insufficient information (I sincerely hope). If I did not fear for the life of my wife and children, I would have never left. I have lived and worked there (South Africa) most of my life and I will never give up hope that there will come a time when all people who love the land and it's peoples will live together in peace and harmony. No race or tribe can claim ownership of the whole continent. There are many myths and wrong perceptions that give non-Africans a mistaken view of Africa.

Having been born in Morocco, I do like to see people who care about
the whole continent...I came to the U.S. when I was three, so I don't feel that tied to it except by birth and more importantly because so much human injustice goes on there...Good poem

Re: It's good to know someone cares about Africa .. but what do you do for
I,ve read some of your poems and will continue later and comment when and where something comes to mind. I promote Africa (from Egypt to the Cape of Good Hope) and the richness of her various cultures with whomever I have contact, besides, it is time we stop asking what others are doing for us and start doing something ourselves. At the moment I'm making sure my children get the opportunity to reach adulthood in an environment relatively free from violence in a country that doesn't promote any kind of racial prejudice, which I'm ashamed to say my country of birth has still not got right, since the pendulum of inequalities has simply swung the other way and the super rich still pull the strings anyway.
