Here is a subject for you. I recently posted these elvish names for Frodo and Sam. The note comes from the final book in the History of Middle Earth. I thought the meaning of these names were beautiful, especially Frodo's. Maybe you could write a poem inspired by one or both of these names.
Samwise Gamgee is given the name Harthad Uluithiad ( Hope Unquenchable)
And Frodo is named Bronwe athan Harthad (Endurance beyond Hope)

Straightforward,
I would have the same problem, but that's where my crazy imagination comes in. :) I'm definitely gonna try a poem on the communalism in India and the road to secularism, though they're rather weighty subjects. Keep an eye on the board- this one could take a few days.

I would find it very difficult to write poetry for someone else, unless I
interacted with her and thus put myself in her shoes. But maybe poems on subjects is another issue. It possibly throws up your thoughts on the subject.
What about a poem on communalism in India and the road to secularism?

Pretty cool idea Hobbitgirl!!!
take your time on this one. I'm in no rush. I've written a few drafts on this subject but haven't hit the mark. I would like to see someone else's take on it.
The theme is a Quarrel on Sleep. for those who have trouble getting out of bed (all of us). The idea is to re-create that feeling when your body argues with your head. If you don't want to do it, or it isn't quite your style that's okay. But if you do take it up please let me know, I'd rather see it on Blogit than in an e-mail. Thanks! and bravo on your creative start here...
