I know what you mean, Shelly-- It is one of those things that a lot of folk have made a sort of agreement to look down on, on the grounds it is so silly and, well, cheezy. But I recall the one we went to had pretty good pizza, and the kids always had a good time.
Barney is one of those things: when she was in college, she was standing around a water-logged bus stop on the way to school, in a hurricane, waiting for a bus that was not coming. She was soaked already. Someone in a car stopped and offered her an umbrella, and she declined it because it was a Barney umbrella.

LOL, one of the kids at the school recently had a B-day
party at Chuckie Cheese. When it was first announced, almost all of the parents of the kids that were invited frowned upon the idea. I felt bad for the b-day kid and her parents!
All of them had a good time anyway. 
Hope you do too, if you go!
