Thanks Ciel! I'll give that a try.
I'll let you know what happens, or not.

Wow, I never thought anyone would ever give me an opening to answer

this particular question!  Here is how you tell a grizzly from a black bear in the woods when you come up behind one with his face down in the bushes:

Creep up behind as quietly as you can, and then with a big shout, kick that rump! Then run like hell to the first tree you can climb, and climb it.  If the bear climbs up after you, it's a black bear.  If it knocks the tree down, it's a grizzly!

LOL Talion!!
Me too!!! And, I am not the "wilderness" type anyway, so I think I should be okay. I'm your typical "indoor princess." Ya know, running water, air conditioning, toilets...

Hello, Sir Strat!! I've missed you!!
Well, see, we use that tactic with the alligators here in FL. You have to run in "zig-zags." I don't care what color the gator is.

Re: TAPS, WOW!!!!!
Lucky biker! I know, I know...I've been MIA from Blogit. I've been tending to Baby M and, well, **cough cough** during her nap and sleep times...I sort of got addicted to Facebook! I can't help it! In my defense, it has tons of word games and I got addicted! But, I've missed you guys. Oh, and Mariah is now 10 months old! Yikes!

I also know what kind of bear I'm viewing. The sign at the zoo or the narrator on the nature TV show always, I mean always, reveals exactly which kind it is. Hoever, if by some unforeseen sequence of events, I found myself in the wilderness confronted by a bear, the question that ran through my mind wouldn't be is it black or brown. The question would be, how fast is it?

Well hiya, Young Miss!

Welcome back home!

As to bears, if I find myself that close, I'm probably not worried about the hair color. As my dad used to say, all I really have to do is run in a circle, because the bear will slip on the curves...

Spitfire, the other day, in Left-Hand Canyon in Boulder County, Colorado, a pretty rugged area and trail, I mountain biker ran into a bear--literally.  He was coming down the mountain trail pretty fast, rounded a curve and plowed head on into a very large bear.  Good thing it startled the bear, he ran off into the woods instead of attacking the biker who picked himself up off of the ground, got back on the bike and got out of there in a hurry before the bear had a chance to change his mind and return to eat him up.  Where you been girl?  How old is that little one now?

blackcat,

The baby is doing great, thanks! She is getting so big and says Mama ALL the time. Daddy is VERY jealous. Whenever I tell her, "Say 'DADA' for me" she pauses, looks at me and says, "MAMA MAMA MAMA."

Yeah, so Facebook?? You really should check it out. TOO kewl. I can't believe how addicted I am. Nothing like boring MySpace. Tons of free word games and so much more. I've found friends from H.S. and the best thing is that you're not "spammed" by everyone and their uncle to "add you as a friend" unless they know you somehow. Very cool. The word games are my weakness. Me and my husband play matches all the time.

Yeah, I took a long break from here too... on and off for months... just got back myself about a week ago.  Facebook?   Really?   hmmmm....
