I stuck this in the wrong post by mistake yesterday, lol
The Nanny-mentality is just another aspect of the whole PC thing. Can you believe that VISA simply refused to transfer any of my money into an on-line poker account? When I wanted that done a couple of years ago, I had to go through another, Pay Pal - like account! Totally f*****g outrageous! (And yes, I did win money, but not enough to make it worth my while for the time invested, although a hell of a lot more than on Blogit...)

Yes Vogue, write on...and cash is the way but, as you say, not all times will 'cash' be accepted.  Its all crazy and mixed up...but anyways, so sorry for your dilemma and so thankful you're still with us.   ~ Elyse (now I have to catch up on your blog here)

It is very aggravating.  It is also embarrassing when you try to use a credit card for a large amount purchase and they refuse to allow because it seems suspicious to them.   Until they get it straightened out you stand there feeling like a criminal.

I completely agree with you on this one!

It happened here with my VIsa card. I almost missed a trip because of it. And the reason was: the transaction was done in Germany and they didn't know I was there, as if it was any of their bloody business where I go! They re-installed it but now every time I use it I am wandering if it will work.

I'm sorry I missed your previous entry with the title of mag. pieces. Too busy worrying about my MAnn family's late arrival. Tschüs.

I empathize with this, vogue...
...only with me, it's my damn web browser that constantly interrupts my e-mail sessions, making me re-enter my password for the sake of "security."
Spare me the freakin' security and just let me roam!!

...they say it is for your safety but, this is so much bull...it's so they won't lose money...they can't pay out on fraudulent transactions and then make you pay for their mistake...they should at least be honest...*ssholes! moon

I agree that would be extremely flustering along with just plan inconvenient and time consuming to get it all straightened out.  Hopefully it won't happen very often.  I prefer cash payment also, but like you said, that is not always feasible.

Glad you're still on...I've had major identity theft problems and because
I reported it (obviously), for a while, every time I used a credit card, they had to make sure it was really me.
