I've read a couple of your earlier articles here and I like your thinking on the subject in general. Your kind of "church" gathering is almost the same as the impression I got from the kind of "gathering of followers of the way of Christ" proposed in the Gospels and other letters by the Apostles. It was explicitly stated that there should be no dogmatic leader figure at such gatherings preaching to the rest (you shall call no man, father(rabbi, abba, etc) and that it was more like a family gathering (thus the Brothers and Sisters) were open discussion was the norm and a lot of the actual activity centered around the welfare of the greater "family". If like minded people, with the intention of building a better society, gather, the general atmosphere (spirit) of the meeting can be categorized as "holy": Where two or more gather, the Holy Spirit is present. Such a gathering can be done anywhere.
