John Mcnabb, I indirectly gave them an ultimatum
Keep me, or keep the supervisor who is abusing the workerbees. I didn't say it that way, but I submitted for a tranfer and told them why. I now have guarentees, we'll see what tomorrow brings.

majroj
Been in a couple of jobs like that, majroj.  You can only take it for so long - especially if there is no give and take - before you are grist for the mill.  Don't let the b*****d's grind you down: nil carborundum illegitimi

This would be funny if it weren't so darn familiar and irritating.
OTJ situations like the one you so clearly demonstrated are why I can't look at "The Office" on TV. That stuff sticks to your shoes, too. :)pat

benzinha and azur, my workplace is a "failed state"

Run by despots unchecked by their rear-echelon unexperienced bosses, they have run off their experienced people and replaced them with people whose specialty is keeping quiet when the boss is around...the bad one, that is. promoting from within is going to be really hard because no one will do it, and those who might are doing it because it offers a means to safety.

There is no means of unwinding the red tape and dismmantling the petty tyrany writing it then using it to tie up their subordinates.

Some games better lost than won, and some better never played.

"All voices will be heard, they have much say as everyone else".

Yes a horse pulling a horses or a cart pulling a cart

Maybe first port of call is a kind of management/how to work with others training.

majroj, this is why I cannot hold a job. I look around and ask whether I am

the only one paying attention, getting things done, following procedure and getting really yucky feedback for all that.

I could usually only stay about three to six months at a job, but would be chased off more rapidly by incompetent bosses who just stared blankly at me in some conversations.

I work alone now, everything is my fault and when I mess up, I know who did it and why and I know whether to trust them to back me up again or to bail on that particular path....

Omigosh, knowing you, this story cracks me up....and you didn't go postal. We elderly, heh heh heh, are much more patient with the truly clueless.

BUT, we DO have to walk away before we hurt somebody. Poor baby, you.
