Justi, I am a Democrat now, but I feel strongly for GWB.
History will treat him kindly. Now, had he not had to use all his political clout getting two wars off the ground, maybe we would have immigration reform.

I wonder how they justify their actions to themselves. I don't know that I would be able to sleep and lie to the people who are hurting and have no method for changing things.

You are such a precious person. Those cousins better straighten up and fly the course straight. I love your comments. Be blessed.

Is any politician every telling us the whole truth – their truth. Or are leaders of country simply puppeteers or the spokesperson for a not so well oiled machine that keep them in power and yammering away about what needs to be done so save the working man, the planet, or to implement a seemingly flawed pursuit of peace between nations.

It takes an adult person to say I'm sorry it takes an adult person to say I
was wrong. I didn't know that about the little spotted owl.
Of course you're right about the earth changing, never staying the same....otherwise Butt Bird and his evil cousin Dan would be causing more real damage than what they do within the confines of my mind.

I have very little respect for most politicians because of the outright pandering and lying. I don't even follow politics very much for that reason. In my lifetime, I don't think there have been very many politicians of conviction and principle from either side of the spectrum. I'm sure I will be roundly castigated for this but, picking one from the left and one from the right I would say that Geo. McGovern and Barry Goldwater were men of conviction. Conservatives will hate the one and Liberals will abhor the other. I think both were men of conviction. Wouldn't it be nice if they weren't all willing to see their souls for power and position? Moon

You have got that right. One looks like an idiot trying to swish here and there to meet poll calls.

Very well said ... it's one thing to stand by your convictions, and
quite another to abandon those same positions when a new poll makes them unpopular.

So do I wish we could choose them not by party but by their ability, their desire to do the best and their wisdom on how to do the best. Thank you for reading and commenting.

The emphasis on, and complaining about flip-flopping is ridiculous. I get very tired of people on both sides nit picking and blowing things out of proportion. Yes, politicians do lie, cover up, promise what they cannot deliver. So does everyone else. I wish we could chose our candidates by focusing on what is good about them and what good they can and will do for our country. But, I'm afraid that is not to be.

I don't believe in the term: flip flopping. People should be allowed to
learn and grow and if necessary, change their minds. Those that refuse to ever bend, no matter what the evidence, are the ones that I worry about.
