Hiya, Mermaid... Wow, your blog's so much easier to read.
I'm glad you got the technical stuff fixed.  But more importantly, I hope you'll keep writing, and not let anyone's comments discourage you. We're all struggling to find our way here, and we all mess up. Bottom line, you've got something to say and deserve an outlet for your artistic efforts, so keep writing!!! :)pat

Purple Mermaid
I feel too new to comment as I feel I've entered here in the middle of someone else's business other than to say that I hope that you find your way here and continue to write, because I've enjoyed your poetry.
Peace

Hello the Purple
I think CharlieMine has said it all. Do the best thing you can - writing poetry from the heart. I can tell you sweetie, it'll be therapeutic for you. Let nothing else bother you other than writing. You are what you are, and we all love you as you are.

You are such a loving person and such a gresat poet. You have become part
of my blogit life these last months. Just post as usual and don't let emails worry you overly much. Not everyone likes all that we are all of the time. love you Kabuxoxoxoxox

Whew....this is a tough one

First things first: although one person that you liked/respected surprised you with some serious negativity, but look at all of those who are supporting you!!!  If everyone agreed with what was said in those e-mails, would we be reading your blogs and writing to you?  You're on my faves list, for Pete's sake!

As for the calling cards, I love 'em.  I like know who is scoping me out; I don't see it as spamming for clicks, I see it as a polite way of letting someone know you like what they are doing even if you don't have the time/inspiration to write a full comment.  Keep 'em comin', Girlfriend, cuz I for one hate seeing the number of "clicks" go up without knowing who has been clicking!

Yes, this kind of venue is a place to seek criticism and learn to improve your writing, but honestly, that is NOT it's main purpose.  The main function of Blogit is to BE HEARD, to CONNECT, the very thing that so many depressed/suicidal folks need--not WANT, but NEED.  If you are down, and it sounds like you have had a very difficult life, writing about it and getting reassurance from others that despite the questions you have about yourself, you are OKAY, is exactly what you need!  Don't for a minute stop telling all of us what you are experiencing!  Your posts have never struck me as whining, for one thing, and for another, so what if someone does whine on this site?  If I don't like it, I don't have to read it, duh!  I don't need to tell the person to stop expressing him/herself....

And finally, as for your poetry--poetry is art, and art is whatever the artist SAYS it is.  There are plenty of people who love how you write.  Poetry is not about counting lines, making rhymes, finding the perfect rhythm...Poetry is about making someone else see and feel what YOU see and feel.  The way that you do that is the right way of writing poetry for YOU!  There is no poetry god out there saying, "Well, you have to have this many syllables with this line separation for THIS type of poem, and rhymes here and here for THIS kind...."  There is no recipe.  It comes from your heart, and that makes it beautiful and right.

Rejecting your poetry and your emotions feels like a rejection of you, I know, and maybe that was the intent.  However, that is only one person.  The rest of us accept you and support you wholeheartedly.

And frankly, I don't give a damn who this pisses off.  Anyone who is petty enough to attack someone who is already down doesn't deserve my consideration.  You don't throw a drowning man an anchor, for Pete's sake, even if he  begs for one!  <angry muttering that is best left unheard>

Nuf said.

Kisses, Mermaid!

I'm sorry you are experiencing all this pain.
I think a simple apology for some tactless remarks could have and possibly still could just make this all go away.
