Well, I knew the effectiveness of simply the aroma of coffee before you posted this “Tid bit” but buck-a-sniffs, Naut – now you’re pushing it.

That is so true!  I wake up ( if you can call it that) very early in the morning and I stumble into the kitchen to put the coffee on.  As soon as that machine starts brewing I feel better and more alert.  I thought it was my imagination or the expectation of the coffee to come but now it makes sense!   Great post.

It's late and I have just filled the machine for tomorrow mornings coffee

first one up has to switch it on. Then I come and read your post.

I think fresh air pumped through the office would have the best affect on sleepy employees but what would I know, seeing as how I am addicted to Tim Hortons already. Can't get past that aroma when we are out.

Nautikos, just reading the title of your post made me get up and go make a fresh pot of coffee before I could read the post.  Now is that a conditioned reflex or not?

This is too much! I hadn't made my way to your blog today. I just buy, I love a milkyway!

I laugh every time I read that poem I wrote for my son. You can rush it I would tell him. Whiner, see what it got you I would say! It has been the best insurance I have had, not necessary though, ya can't ever dislike me, I laugh!

I am resuming the time series on Monday. It is not caught up to my second read, I am telling I can't take, but  I don't much on Sunday.

Too funny, but it warmed my heart so because Quakers are know as prolific writers (prose), I take it to mean volumes, so when a terse write gets a little perk, all the better. It is tough clawing my way into the ranks of the ones before me. But I have studied each one of them intently.

Have a great day my friend!  Shelly

Nautikos
The nicest thing is when my husband goes to the kitchen and makes coffee first. I have two reactions. 1) He is just the sweetest. 2) Wow that smells so good. He makes good coffee.

I know the smell of fresh coffee brewing in the kitchen wakes me up.
Or bacon. That's a wake-up scent, too. Science is so varied and interesting.

It's no new observation that the fresh grounds smell like heaven
even to those who find the flavor of brewed coffee vile:   One of Nature's biggest cons!  I wonder if they are talking about the smell of the beans, or the brew, having that wakeful effect.
