Scared the crap out of me too.  I see no correlation, however, between the true story of EAP and Annabelle Lee and Play Misti for Me ... Their's was a tragic love story and every time I read this I almost cry.  Sadly, this was EAP's last complete poem...

That presentation makes me want to cry. Thank you for your indulgence at the Four Portal poem. I loved the line you picked to start the 3 canto as well. I got so lucky!  sam

I have loved that poem since it was used in "Play Misty For Me" w/ Clint Eastwood. Very appropriate to attach it to Beethoven. I enjoyed reading it again. Thanks.
