Hiya Krisles, thanks for that wonderful comment you left on Naut's blog...
I once dated a guy named Monty (or maybe he babysat me)  -- It was 1948 or 49 when I was just a snot-nosed kid and he was a returning war hero Marine buddy of my cousin Bob. It wasn't actually a date date. We were hanging out together, like he was my big brother or something, but I thought he was so cool. He talked about his tour of duty, about jungle fever, and gave some pretty frank assessments of the honeys who walked by the diner where we were having an ice cream soda... He'd be 80-something now, but I'm sure my Monty was shot by a jealous husband years ago. :)

Krisles

I am afraid there will be fighting here, that is to say in the US and in this country as well. Not this year or next - but the day will come. And it won't be very pretty -because 'they' won't come with conventional armies, and  'they' won't fight according to conventional rules of engagement - 'they' don't do it now.

Who are 'they', you ask? I am speaking of the growing movement of Islamo-fascism, which is not confined to al Qaeda. For it is a movement, a very enticing politico-religious movement, which promises a new dawn, a spiritual awakening, as well as worldly delivery from want, a just community in submission to Allah...

There are those who dismiss such talk as paranoid fear-mongering. I invite them to
listen to people's talk in Pakistan's North-West, to what is being said in North Africa, to what is expressed in the Muslim ghettos of Europe...

The radical cousin in the family
I agree! I feel the same about our own country! We can't help ourselves, but the world put pressure on us to help Zimbabwe. (Just to mention one example)

We are so not ready to fight anyone on our home turf
It's something that we have no experience with.  Wheb you consider the last war we had here was the civil war, and that was against each other. I really don't think we have the infrastructure or the leadership to survive for very long if we had to fight here.  We have trouble re-building after natural dissasters, for goodness sake!

I've known quite a few Aggies!
I even dated one once.  I was a horney toad myself!  Uh, you know what I am talking about, right?  This world is getting too dangerous a place, but it is best to be aware of the dangers than ignorant of them.
